3-Car Crash In Edgewater Sends Man To Shock Trauma: Police
EDGEWATER, MD - A three-car crash in Edgewater sent a man to shock trauma this weekend, officers said.
Authorities said he suffered life-threatening injuries.
Police said the wreck happened Saturday around 10:25 p.m. on Mayo Road at Blue Ridge Road.
Officers said a 2004 Toyota Corolla sedan was driving west on Blue Ridge Road, approaching the intersection with Mayo Road.
Authorities said a 2014 Ford Fusion sedan was heading north on Mayo Road and approaching the same intersection.
"The Toyota failed to yield right-of-way and entered the intersection, where it was struck by the Ford," the Anne Arundel County Police Department said in a Monday press release. "The Toyota then rotated and struck an unoccupied BMW before coming to rest."
Officers said the Toyota driver was helicoptered to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for advanced care.
The Ford driver and passenger weren't hurt, authorities said.
Police are still investigating.
