Man Threatens Victim With Gun, Runs From Police In South County: Officers

LOTHIAN, MD - A man threatened somebody with a gun and then ran from police officers in Lothian,  authorities said.

Police said they arrested the suspect, identified as 23-year-old Jeremiah Deniko Taylor of Edgewater. Court records also list Taylor with a Lothian address.

Officers said they were called for an armed person in Lothian on Jan. 24 around 1:15 p.m.

Authorities said they responded to the intersection of Seven Oaks Lane and Mt. Zion Marlboro Road.

Police said they learned that the suspect and the victim were arguing when the suspect threatened the victim with a handgun and chased the victim down the road. 

Officers said they found the suspect, who ran away when approached.

Authorities said they caught the suspect after a short foot chase and found him with a .40-caliber handgun.

Court records show Taylor was charged with:

  • First-degree assault (Felony)
  • Firearm use in a felonious violent crime (Misdemeanor)
  • Second-degree assault (Misdemeanor)
  • Reckless endangerment (Misdemeanor)
  • Disorderly conduct (Misdemeanor)
