ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD - As the Mega Millions jackpot grows, two Maryland Lottery players scored $10,000 each in Anne Arundel County.
The winners bought their tickets in Annapolis and Edgewater.
The Annapolis ticket was sold at Pantry One Food Mart, located at 1090 Spa Road. The Edgewater ticket was sold at the South River Colony Exxon, located at 111 Mitchells Chance Road.
Both third-tier prizes were won during Tuesday's drawing, but nobody hit the jackpot.
Tuesday's white balls were 8, 24, 30, 45 and 61. The gold Mega Ball was 12, and the Megaplier was X4.
The next Mega Millions drawing is Friday. The jackpot will be worth an estimated annuity of $1.25 billion and a cash option of $625.3 million.
This is the fourth-largest Mega Millions jackpot ever. It's also the sixth-largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history.
During this jackpot run, Maryland has had three second-tier winners of $4 million and $1 million. The state has also tallied 20 third-tier winners of $10,000 to $40,000.
The last jackpot of $20 million was hit in New York on April 18.
Maryland's last jackpot win came in March 2014. That's when Maryland and Florida players split a $414 million jackpot. The winning ticket was sold at Lady's Liquors in La Plata.
The odds of winning $1 million playing Mega Millions is 1 in 12 million. The odds of winning any prize is 1 in 24.
Winning numbers are posted at mdlottery.com and on the free Maryland Lottery app.
Lottery officials encourage all winners to sign the back of their tickets immediately and put them in a safe place until they can claim their prize. Winners have 182 days from the drawing to claim their prizes.
