Top 5: New County Executive, Fatal Crash

Seahawks Face No. 3 Ranked Broadneck in Semis

South River's girls basketball team faces Broadneck High Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in Edgewater.

South River’s girls basketball team faces its next test Wednesday night as they host Broadneck High. The matchup is part of the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA) regional playoffs. Seeded just one spot behind the Seahawks, the Bruins also enjoyed a bye in the first round of the playoffs. In the quarterfinals, Broadneck soundly defeated Glen Burnie High, 47-24. On the same day, South River beat Severna Park High, 58-44. Going into Wednesday night’s regional semifinals, Seahawks head coach Mike Zivic will look to get more productivity out of Monday’s top scorer Tiffany McKinney. McKinney netted 20 points against Severna Park and hopes the team can continue its success against Broadneck after defeating them twice…
