Three Vehicle Collision Leaves Three Seriously Injured

Two pickup trucks collided with a minivan sending three people to shock trauma on Friday in Harwood.

Three people were seriously injured Friday afternoon in a three vehicle accident on Solomons Island Road in Harwood. A 2004 Ford F350 was traveling south on Solomons Island Road around 4 p.m. when it struck a 2006 Chrysler minivan that was stopped preparing to turn into a driveway near Harwood Road, according to police. The minivan was pushed by the force of the accident into the path of a GMC pickup truck, which struck the van. The driver of the Ford and two occupants in the van were taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma center for treatment, according to police. The driver of the GMC truck suffered minor injuries and was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center. Police did not release the names of those injured. A preliminary …

UPDATE: Man Dies After Car Crashes into House

Police said Ryan Douglas Anderson, 20, of Harwood died Saturday night after his car crashed into a home on Hillside Avenue.

UPDATE (10:45 a.m. Tuesday)—The driver of the car that crashed into a home on Hillside Avenue early Saturday morning has died, according to Anne Arundel County police. Police said Ryan Douglas Anderson, 20, of Harwood succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash at 9:02 p.m. Saturday at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore. Shortly after 1:30 a.m., the Honda Civic that Anderson was driving failed to negotiate a "T" intersection at the 900 block of Hillside Avenue, resulting in the vehicle colliding into a house. The occupants of the house were not harmed, according to police.

"Succumbed to his injuries" means to die from injury. Add to the reckless behavior and the unregistered VEHICLE-uninsured. I'm not especially pleased the young man is dead but such an event would surely result in harm to himself, vehicle damage, property destruction and injury of loss of life to others. He was inconsiderate and uncontrollable.   more ›
