North Beach Man Charged with Attempted Murder

A south county man has been charged with attempted first-degree murder after he allegedly shot his girlfriend in the upper body during an argument Friday morning in North Beach. Officers arrested Kenneth William Mitchell II, 34, of the 600 block of Alabama Avenue, Friday morning for allegedly shooting his girlfriend, 26, according to a release by the Anne Arundel County Police Department. Around 2:05 a.m. Friday, officers were alerted of a domestic-related shooting on the 600 block of Alabama Avenue in North Beach. Mitchell pulled out a gun and shot the woman while arguing at the residence on Alabama Avenue, according to police. “The suspect was located and arrested without incident,” the release stated.
