WBVFD Purchases New Ambulance, Thanks Community
Volunteers are getting a new ride now that firefighters from Woodland Beach purchased a new emergency response unit.
Members of the Woodland Beach Volunteer Fire Department (WBVFD) are getting a new ride soon after they recently purchased a new ambulance to better serve the surrounding community. The new ambulance, a 2011 Ford F-550, is the first four-wheel ambulance in the county right now, according to Capt. John Sweeney. It’s currently being inspected in Millersville, and will then be hooked up with the appropriate radio gear. After undergoing the inspection, it will go into service as soon as possible. Purchasing the ambulance is a big deal—something that couldn’t have been accomplished without the community’s help and recent fundraisers, Sweeney said on the WBVFD website.
