Woman Hospitalized After Suffering Horse Kick to Face

Officials said she suffered significant facial injuries, but that they were not life threatening.

A 21-year-old woman suffered serious facial injuries Thursday morning when a horse kicked her in the face in Harwood According to Battalion Chief Steve Thompson of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department, paramedics responded to the 3900 block of Old Birdsville Road in Harwood shortly before 9 a.m. Thursday. Upon arrival, they found a 21-year-old woman with critical injuries. Thompson said the woman sustained significant facial injuries after being kicked in the face by a horse. Her injuries were critical, but not life threatening, he added. Paramedics transported the woman to the Shock Trauma center in Baltimore for treatment, Thompson said.
