4 Seahawk Teams Soar Into State Playoffs
The next 72 hours will be decisive for South River's volleyball, field hockey, football and girls soccer squads.
After a thrilling come-from-behind victory by its football team, and an even more dramatic extra-time penalty goal for its girls soccer team, South River High is soaring into the state playoff picture. With Seahawks’ field hockey, girls soccer, football and volleyball teams each competing in the coming days, it’s a great time to be a South River student. South River’s girls soccer team won the regional championship on election night, defeating Arundel High 3-2. But as many students have already Tweeted, there’s a lot more action to come. Starting with field hockey at 5 p.m. on Wednesday at Richard Montgomery High, the Seahawks will look to continue their playoff push against Blake High. Hi Michele, it's a little confusing, but South River is actually playing Bowie High, but their playing AT Richard Montgomery High. South River's Athletic Director Dave Klingel explained it to me and showed me the Seahawks are playing Bowie. more ›
