Students in Anne Arundel County can be prohibited from prom and graduation activities if found in violation of the system's drug and alcohol policy.
Superintendent Kevin Maxwell cautioned students and parents Wednesday about the alcohol and drug policy for Anne Arundel County Public Schools, heading into graduation season. In a letter to parents of soon-to-be graduates, Maxwell reminded families that students can be prohibited from school events if found possessing, consuming or distributing alcohol and drugs, even off of school property. South River High's prom is scheduled for May 18, while Southern's will take place May 4.

It was his special way of asking the teen to South River’s prom this Saturday. “I woke up to no one at the hotel room including Chuckie. I looked all over the place for him and could not understand where he might have gone,” Fleshman told Patch. "His mother came in my room and told me to come outside on the balcony and look how pretty the water was that morning," she said. “[When I saw it] I ran down to the beach, gave him a huge hug and kiss and said ‘Yes!,’” …
