South River Burpee-A-Thon Raises Nearly $9K for 'Plunge'
About 135 students did 42,000 "burpees" to raise money for the Special Olympics.
It appears South River High students will do pretty much anything to raise money for this year’s Polar Bear Plunge. After students brought a goat to school to raise money to raise money for the Polar Bear Plunge, about 135 students could be seen doing push-up/jumping jack hybrid workouts for a whole hour on Saturday in what has been called the Burpee-A-Thon. Burpees, a CrossFit-style workout where people go down for a push-up and then lunge back up, jump and reach for the sky—over and over again.
