SRYA Releases Details on Expanded Field Hockey Program

Now in its second year, the SRYA field hockey program is offering additional skill levels for high school students.

The following post was submitted by Jenny Yates, head of the South River Youth Athletics' (SRYA) field hockey program. We decided to start field hockey for SRYA in 2011 because it was not being offered, but a lot of girls wanted to play and needed a program. New to the program this year will be a senior team that will provide the high school aged girls a place to play if they are not playing on the high school team. We feel that sports are important at all ages because the kids learn so many life lessons while having fun playing a sport. We teach them sportsmanship, teamwork, build self-confidence, and provide coaches who are good role models. Practices are twice a week and will start in August.
