The animal rescue shelter opened its Spay Spa & Neuter Nook on Sunday.
Rude Ranch Animal Rescue hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony on Sunday to open its Spay Spa & Neuter Nook. February is National Spay and Neuter month, and according to Rude Ranch Animal Rescue, the nook was created with the goal of making spay/neuter services more affordable to pet owners who might not otherwise be able to sterilize their pets. Rude Ranch president Kathy Evans said the event was a success and that many people came out to check out the new nook. Evans said Alley Cat Allies Co-Founder Becky Robinson and Acting County Executive John Hammond cut the ribbon and started the festivities on Sunday.

Rude Ranch Animal Rescue is celebrating National Spay/Neuter month with a grand opening. The animal rescue shelter is hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony on Sunday to open its Spay Spa & Neuter Nook. According to Rude Ranch Animal Rescue, the nook was created with the goal of making spay/neuter services more affordable to pet owners who might not otherwise be able to sterilize their pets. On Sunday, the Spay Spa & Neuter Nook will be open for tours featuring a teddy bear surgery clinic, pet care tips, contests, games, raffles and light refreshments. Some of the cats at Rude Ranch Animal Rescue escape the cold in favor of the sunlight.
The exceptionally cold temperatures this week have caused many to stay inside under a blanket and seek warmth—including furry friends. Some cats currently housed at Rude Ranch Animal Rescue in Harwood decided to escape the cold on Wednesday and cuddle up in the sunlight for warmth. Rude Ranch Animal Rescue is currently gearing up for National Spay/Neuter Month in February, which aims to raise awareness of the plight of homeless animals and overpopulation.
