Local Irish Dance Academy Performs at Celtic Festival

Dancers from the O'Grady Quinlan Academy of Irish Dance performed at the Southern Maryland Celtic Festival demonstrating Irish reels, jigs and other moves.

Students from the O'Grady Quinlan Academy of Irish Dance in Galesville/Dunkirk delighted festival goers at the Southern Maryland Celtic Festival on Saturday. The following post was submitted by O'Grady Quinlan Academy of Irish Dance parent volunteer, Bernadette Martin.   The O'Grady Quinian (OGQ) dancers performed two shows at the festival demonstrating Irish reels, jigs, slip jigs and hornpipes. Spectators were given a chance to get on stage and learn a few steps. OGQ, under the direction of Joanie Feeney Ohrt of Dunkirk started offering classes in April at Memorial Hall in Galesville. New students are still welcome to register. OGQ will also be offering two, three-week summer sessions on Thursdays. Session one will run July 12, 19 and …
