After years of making scones as a hobby, Andrea Galdi has now turned her recreational activity into a business.
Some days, Millersville resident Andrea Galdi spends 14 hours working inside the kitchen of Edgewater's LilyRose Cakes, Cupcakes & Confections on Mayo Road. It's a hard life, but it's a welcome change of scenery from her earlier days—filling her own kitchen full of flour, sugar and baking equipment. Galdi spent years making her scones simply for fun and for others to enjoy in her home in Millersville. She made them for her kids' teachers at schools in Severna Park. LilyRose Cakes, Cupcakes & Confections could become one of the newest sweet-tooth hot spots in town.
A brand new cupcake shop is opening in Edgewater, offering residents yet another option to satisfy their sweet tooth right here in town. The shop, known as LilyRose Cakes, Cupcakes & Confections, has a large "Opening Soon" banner that stretches across the small strip mall on Mayo Road, across from Edgewater Fitness. While its doors are not yet open to the public, a quick glance through its glass windows shows a quaint little shop with a sofa, some cabinets and an impressive cake already inside. Located at 8 Mayo Rd., the new business’ colors seem to be purple and an off-white cream color. LilyRose’s Facebook page doesn’t provide a lot of information, but does show employees working hard to paint the inside of the shop and renovate its …
