Little Caesars in Edgewater Looking to Hire

The pizza shop will open inside the Edgewater Kmart.

The Little Caesars Pizza set to come to the Edgewater Kmart doesn’t have a specific opening date yet, but the store is seeking employees. Edgewater Kmart Human Resources manager Carolyn McPhaul said she believes the pizza store will be ready to open in mid-to-late April.  “We are looking to hire about 25 associates at this time,” McPhaul said. “We just don’t have the specifics on an opening day.” In February, a store manager told Patch the Little Caesars will open inside the Edgewater Kmart on Solomons Island Road. Sears Holding Group has listed a Store Manager position for the Little Caesars on Indeed.com. Little Caesars Pizza Coming to Edgewater

The pizza chain will open a new location inside the Kmart in Edgewater

Edgewater will soon be home to a Little Caesars Pizza. The chain is opening a new location inside the Kmart on Solomons Island Road. A store manager at Kmart confirmed that plans for a Little Caesars Pizza are in the works, however they could not give an exact opening or construction date because they are still waiting on permits from the county. Edgewater Kmart Human Resources Manager Carolyn McPhaul said the store will be looking to hire employees for Little Caesars Pizza in the future. "We are going to be looking to hire and staff up the stand—we just don't have exact dates yet," McPhaul said. Patch will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.

Anonymous Kmart 'Layaway Angels' Come to Edgewater

Store manager Bruce Derthick said eight angels have hit the Edgewater store since Friday afternoon.

Last week, Time magazine had a story about people anonymously paying off the layaway balances for strangers in Kmart retail stores. That story focused on a Detroit Kmart where a woman came in and asked to pay off a couple of layaway balances. It set her back $500, but she didn't want any credit.
