Elizabeth Carr Memorial Fund Raises $9,170 for Hopkins
The Art from the Heart silent auction held Sunday in honor of a former Summit School student, featured art from children at John’s Hopkins.
The Elizabeth Carr Memorial Fund (ECMF) raised more than $9,000 for the Johns Hopkins Children's Center at an art show on Sunday at the Severna Park Community Center. The organization hosted Art from the Heart, which featured 68 pieces of artwork created by children treated at Johns Hopkins. The art was auctioned off and between flat donations and silent auction bids, the show raised $4,585. The Elizabeth Carr Memorial Fund then matched the profits and donated $9,170 to the Child Life Department of the Children’s Center. “Art from the Heart was a huge success and we are beyond excited with the outcome of our first annual event,” said Hannah Carr. I am a mother of a pediatric brain tumor survivor and a current teacher at Summit. I commend you for raising funds to support pediatric cancer patients, and I grieve for your lose. If those personally touched by pediatric cancer would take the lead in fundraising events, just think of the money that would be raised!
