House Fire Sends Owner, Firefighter to Hospital

A basement fire in Davidsonville sent one homeowner to the hospital with serious, but not-life threatening injuries.

A basement fire in Davidsonville sent a homeowner and a firefighter to the hospital on Saturday morning. Capt. Mike Pfaltzgraff of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department said it took 60 firefighters more than 30 minutes to put out the two-alarm fire in the 900 block of Malvern Hill Drive. The fire started around 7 a.m. on Saturday, and Pfaltzgraff said two people were inside when the smoke detectors went off. Emergency personnel transported a 57-year-old man by ambulance to Anne Arundel Medical Center with serious but not life-threatening injuries. The other person did not require medical attention. A 45-year-old firefighter also suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from Anne Arundel Medical Center. The cause of the fire …

Fire in Deale Beach Displaces Family

Morning fire in the 5900 block of 1st Street sends three to hospital.

According to Anne Arundel County Fire Department spokesman Steve Thompson, a fire that started in a bedroom of a home in the 5900 block of 1st Street in Deale around 9:46 a.m. on Tuesday was under control just 20 minutes later. A family of three, a 34-year-old man, a 33-year-old woman and a 4-year-old boy were taken to the hospital as a precaution for evaluation and possible smoke inhalation. The Red Cross was called to assist the family.
