A local pro and amateur provided a few favorites to share.
Irish Soda Bread—Courtesy of Kevin Duffy, head chef at Wharfside Bar and Grill. "This recipe came from my mom, and we like to serve it at the restaurant, especially at the holidays and St. Patrick's Day," Duffy said. "We also use it afterwards to make French Toast. It's really good." The recipe was passed down through Duffy's family. It likely came from Catherine O'Connor, a first-generation Irish immigrant from County Clare. Ingredients (makes two loaves) Directions: Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl, cut in butter. Add eggs and buttermilk and combine thoroughly.
