Head-on Collision in Friendship Kills One

Police said the crash occurred Saturday morning on Chesapeake Beach Road near Sansbury Road.

A Calvert County man was killed and another was seriously injured in a head-on collision on Chesapeake Beach Road early Saturday morning. According to a release, at 5:44 a.m. on Saturday Anne Arundel and Calvert County police responded to a report of a collision on Chesapeake Beach Road near Sansbury Road. Officers arrived to find two vehicles, a Ford Taurus and a Ford Expedition, in the westbound lane with heavy front-end damage. The Expedition was on its side and engulfed in flames. The Dunkirk Volunteer Fire Company pronounced the operator of the Ford Taurus, Ronald Joseph Lignelli, 61, of Chesapeake Beach, dead at the scene, according to the release. Bystanders pulled the driver of the Expedition from the vehicle before it caught fire…

Memorial Service Set for Man Killed in Edgewater Crash

Ryan Douglas Anderson, 20, of Harwood died Saturday night after his car crashed into a home on Hillside Avenue.

The family of Ryan Anderson has made arrangements for his memorial service. The 20-year-old Harwood man was killed when his car crashed into a house early Saturday morning. Anderson's family will hold a memorial service for Ryan at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Christ Episcopal Church in West River. Anderson died Saturday night at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma from injuries sustained in a car accident where his vehicle crashed into a home on Hillside Avenue. According to The Capital Gazette Anderson was employed at Holiday Point Marina in Edgewater. He was listed as an organ donor and his body is being donated to science research.
