Although it may not technically be south county, I visited the this local restaurant on Mayo Road and was not disappointed.
Upon walking into The Edgewater Restaurant, it immediately felt like the type of place you'd want to "come home" to. Familiar sports memorabilia lined the wall, a friendly welcome from the bar staff and you're right back in an atmosphere that would make the cast of Cheers blush. After sitting down with my in-laws to celebrate the return of my brother-in-law from the Persian Gulf, we all ordered a water or a Samuel Adams Summer Ale. I chose the latter. My relatives strongly recommended the broiled crabcakes and so without hesitation I ordered away, adding a cup of the Southwestern corn and shrimp soup (it was delicious). An Edgewater business is showing its “Baytriotism” with Old Bay-themed cuisine through Saturday.
There are a lot of things Edgewater and Davidsonville residents are proud of, but few hometown specialties are held up as high as the flavor of waterfront living: Old Bay. To celebrate life on the bay, and the spice that seems to go well with everything, two nearby restaurants are offering Old Bay-inspired entrees, desserts and drinks as part of Taste of Baytriotism. The menus run through Saturday, June 30. Participating restaurants include The Green Turtle in Edgewater, Miss Shirley's in Annapolis, and a few others in Pasadena and Gambrills.
