County Food Bank Honors Edgewater Cub Scouts, Schools
Pack 249 and three local schools worked hard to raise thousands of pounds of goods for families in need.
The Anne Arundel County Food Bank honored Cub Scouts from Pack 249 in Edgewater on Tuesday for collecting the most donations in a special program Tuesday morning in Crownsville. As a part of Scouting for Food, a national service program coordinated by the Boy Scouts of America, the local troop collected 17,771 pounds of goods for the county food bank. The high number made them the single largest contributor to the food bank of any troop in The Capital District, according to district coordinator Mark Friese.
