Edgewater's Newest Cupcake Shop Thrives on Flavor, Faith

LilyRose Cakes, Cupcakes & Confections opened its doors to the public on Friday, featuring exotic flavors and a family-like atmosphere.

What do you get when you take a lawyer, an IT consultant and a "super mom," and put them all together?  Apparently, you get Edgewater's newest cupcake businesses—LilyRose Cakes, Cupcakes & Confections. Owned and operated by Carmen Adams and Sandie Torres, the two women opened up their shop at 8 Mayo Rd. on Friday while partnering with Andrea Galdi, a business owner who makes scones alongside LilyRose's cupcakes.  Together, the three ladies hope to become one of the hottest shops in town, offering unique recipes for cakes, cupcakes, scones and more.  Adams, a former lawyer, and Torres, a former IT consultant, spend most of their time working on cupcakes while Galdi focuses on her scones.
