Crews Battle Car Fire on Route 50

No one was injured in the fire on Thursday.

Firefighters battled a car fire on Route 50 East near the exit for Davidsonville Road on Thursday afternoon. Division Chief Keith Swindle, a spokesman for the Anne Arundel County Fire Department, said crews responded to fire at 1 p.m. on Thursday. Swindle said it took just one engine to battle the blaze and no one was injured. Swindle said a fire investigator was not called to the scene, which means the incident was not suspicious in nature. Photos by Donna L. Cole

Three Teens Charged with Arson in SUV Fire

Two 16-year-old males and one 17-year-old male have been charged with intentionally setting an SUV on fire on Jan. 21.

Anne Arundel County fire investigators have charged three teens with arson in a Jan. 21 vehicle fire in Davidsonville. According to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department, two 16-year-old males and one 17-year-old-male were arrested on juvenile citations. All three teens were charged with first-degree malicious burning, second-degree conspiracy to commit arson, first-degree conspiracy to commit malicious burning and malicious destruction of property. On Jan. 21 at 4 a.m. firefighters respond to the 1400 block of Della Way in Davidsonville for a report of a vehicle fire.
