If you are looking for ways to help others this holiday season, Arundel Lodge has several opportunities. The nonprofit needs volunteers to help with prep work, serving and cleaning up on Thanksgiving Day. The dinner will be served Nov. 22 at the Arundel Lodge at 2600 Solomons Island Rd. in Edgewater. Arundel Lodge Inc. (ALI) had been busy recently with the planning of an exciting addition to its landscape. A rain garden is scheduled for installation on Tuesday on the grounds of the main office, located in Edgewater. Staff, volunteers and members of ALI will be on hand to help out with this important watershed preservation project. A rain garden consists of a shallow depression that is a bed of native plants, soil and mulch. Together, these elements work to collect, absorb and clean stormwater runoff–before it gets to the storm drain systems. The South River Federation recently awarded ALI with a grant from the Chesapeake Bay Trust for the project, and they are also partnering with Severn Grove Ecological Design to design the layout…
