Police: Suspicious Incident Not an Attempted Abduction

An investigation revealed that the girl was not in danger so police say there should be no additional concerns related to this incident.

Police located a child safe and unharmed Wednesday after a reported possible abduction attempt in Selby-on-the-Bay. After an investigation, they determined there was not any intent to commit abduction or assault the victim. Anne Arundel County police responded at 4 p.m. Wednesday to a report of an attempted abduction of an 11-year-old girl near Edgemont Street and Hillside Drive. Police said it was reported that two men in an older model station wagon attempted to grab the girl and force her into the vehicle. The girl was not hurt and was able to flee and report the incident. It was also reported that a small child was seen inside the vehicle, according to police. Numerous patrol officers were then placed in the area while detectives began…

I live on Edgemont Street & the young girl is my neighbor. I posted on Selby's Facebook Page, Edgewater's & my personal as soon as I got home & heard what happened. People really responded & I'm proud of my neighbors. I'm interested to hear more details tonight when I get home. It was very real in our neighborhood & scary. County Police Searching for Men They Said Tried to Abduct a Jogger in Crofton

Police said a man on foot and another driving a car attempted to abduct a 29-year-old woman jogging on Priest Bridge Drive Monday night.

Anne Arundel County Police are looking for two men in connection with an attempted abduction Monday night in Crofton. Police said the incident happened just after 7 p.m. in the 2100 block of Priest Bridge Drive. A 29-year-old woman was jogging when she noticed a man following her on foot, according to a release. The woman told police the man asked her for directions to the post office. That’s when another man pulled up in an older model gray sedan and also asked her for directions to the post office, according to the release. Police said the man on foot then grabbed the woman from behind and she screamed.
