Bausum and Duckett Celebrates 50 Years in Business

Edgewater electrical contractor keeps business plan nimble in order to survive and thrive.

For Bausum and Duckett Electric Company, business is about family and longevity. The Edgewater-based company's longevity is apparent as it celebrates 50 years in business. But looking a little closer, its two defining factors come together more clearly. Mark Llewellyn, vice president, can rattle off a list of recent retirees that worked for the residential and commercial electrical contractor from nearly the time it started in 1960. All members of the family, he said. Llewellyn himself started in 1982. "We're really a family-oriented company," he said. "When you get too huge, you start to lose touch with that.
