Central Elementary is a K-5 public elementary school, one of three Edgewater schools (and the largest, serving overMore 750 students). The school services students from Harwood, Edgewater and Riva. Neighborhoods include Annapolis Landing, Loch Haven, Selby, South River Colony, Sylvan Shores, Waterford , Withernsea and parts of Southdown Shores.

In 2010, the school opened the school year with the addition of a five classroom kindergarten wing and wall enclosures for the formerly open-space classrooms. An active PTA and community involvement are key to faculty, staff, students and parents.

Mayo Elementary School is a K-5 elementary school located just off Mayo Road/Central Avenue on the peninsula inMore Edgewater. One of three schools servicing the Edgewater communities, Mayo is the smallest, accommodating more than 300 students from communities east of Selby, including neighborhoods on Carrs Wharf Road, Turkey Point and Beverly Beach. An active PTO and the closeness of the community are key to faculty, staff, students and parents.
CrossRoads Child Development Center

Crossroads Child Development Center is a child care facility serving 2- and 3-year-olds, preschool and school-ageMore students. The center strives to provide a social, educational, developmental and recreational aspect to understanding and nurturing the whole child. 

The facility is open year-round. Transportation for school-age students is provided from Davidsonville Elementary and Central Middle School. Before- and after-school care is limited to 29 students per school year.
