I have personal knowledge that these thieves have indeed taken property from the cosigners, and sold it! they go to Salisbury, and, Delaware to sell the property for their own personal gain. Its absolutely pathetic, and I truly hope they are brought to justice!

Actually if i was Trish i would probably of said sue me you cant get blood from a stone .. Nope i tried to warn you about the problems with filing suit and about postponements and bankruptcy and that it just might not be worth your time or money.. oh well i wasnt able to get you all to see those issues so how am i suppose to change your mind that other people post on forums on the internet besides the people directly involved smh.
Trish Lawler is "Mike"! Who else would tell us not to pursue Legal avenues?
Well, it's only just started....Thanks Sarah for the insight!

PS. your on a public forum be prepared see thats where strange things like other people posting advice or comments can happen from time to time . I am glad you like spending time and money only to recieve none back in return i for one am enjoying watching this Train wreck for free. Have i hope the rest of the folks you got to join along are having fun too ;-)
P.S....Mike, we didn't ASK or want your advice. We followed the proper legal process, knowing we would not see any money, but knowing we are a "thorn in Pissed off Patty's side".
Thank you Sarah for your kind words. As I said previously, there is more to come....
Wow do you people hear what your saying. First why would i care about spell check or using proper grammar since none of you do either lol. Second i haven't lowered myself to using curse words or name calling but you have which shows your true education levels. Third you seem to think that anyone that has a different view then yours is wrong and must be the evil Trish or James hiding in the bushes. At the beginning i was trying to just give simple advice that i have learned myself the hard way. So i guess you paying back everyone that filed suit their fees back is out ... I never said you wouldn't win your cases of course you were going to win but did you or anyone get paid money or property back... No you didn't because if you did you would be shouting to the hills about it.I will enjoy reading about this further and i will bring some popcorn too..
Wow, Mike sounds like a nut job and he doesn't use spell check or punctuation

Show's not over....not even close. Mike, you don't know what we have going on.....hahahahahha
How was the Show .. was there popcorn .. was everyones property given back to them ... let me guess nope and nope. So in the end you got all these people riled up about justice and got them to spend more money and they arent going to get anything .. Grace you should be ashamed instead of asking for people to break out their check books because we are going to win the day you should of paid the filing fees for these people yourself.. Oh wait thats a bridge to far for you.. If i was you Grace i would take a minute to understand you made a mistake and got rapped up in your own show instead of worrying about was going to happen to these poor people after you got your jolleys.. I tried to warn you all about the pitfalls. If some of you listened and didnt waste their time or money then i helped and even those that are just now understanding its ok you live and learn. As the cases wrap up this month with no money or property being given its time to understand that you cant eat pride and dont follow a mistake by making more mistakes.i had said i would smile at this but im not smiling. Grace and Mary I hope you both have learned something I hope also that you can make amends to the community for the great crusade you sent them on... Maybe you can start a fund to pay the filing fees back to them. That would be nice and kind of you. If you are already working on it kudos for you.
Civil Suits against Repeats Patricia Lawler, 7 August court date...let the show begin!
I agree that I dont see a situation that includes the Defendant showing up. It would be a waste of time for her to be there at this point if a settlement was possible that would of happened already. This unfortunately like i posted before is a lose lose .. 50% of all small business fail in the first few years and this proves the rule. Being a outsider looking in i have to say I warned you all about the pitfalls of spending more money just for pride sake(filing a tort or replevin).. But i will say i do understand the emotion that one can feel about righting a wrong done to self. So i might have been alittle harsh in trying to get you all away from what in my view was a waste of more time and money.. ( time being money as well). I will say this you showed great organization skills and you all came together as a community in a sense. If anything i think everyone walks away being stronger and wiser in how they make decisions. God Bless and Good luck

Unfortunately have faith that even in the best case solution this case wont even be shown to a judge to show validity until fall.. Disclaimer: I am not saying this to be mean.. Its just the truth the other 2 cases have been postponed till Aug and those are breach of contract case( they are easy to prove and get final judgement on). The Replevin case will be moved back at least till September in the best case but my money is on October
maybe November just to show good cause. The sad thing is the Validity of the Claim is not really in doubt but the wheels of justice move really slow.. So be prepared to have no judgement until Next Year.

I don't know who grace & mary are but they seem to have a personal grudge against Trisha and Jimmy. They were never drunk or rude when I came in which was almost every day. They did not drag their children into this as Mary may have you think, but children get extremely hurt when their parents are called the types of names you both have used. I understand you are angry, but as i said before, you shouldn't stoop to such a low level to prove a point. Where are the pictures of them selling consignors stuff in delaware? you don't have to embelish, it is bad enough already. People are already outraged, you don't have to make it worse. File a complaint, hope to get your stuff back and that justice is done. that is the best anyone can ask for. Its business!

A few people turned out last night for this meeting. It was great not only for the comraderie, but also to get something done here!
We went through a detailed explanation of how to proceed with filing claims and handed out the pertaining legal paperwork.
What we need is MORE PEOPLE to file claims! As many people as possible! We figure that if they had over 700 consignors, there must be a good number of us out there who have been ripped off. We need to present a united front here and take all of these steps together for the maximum effect. Please start spreading the word - send anyone you know who may have consigned items with the Lawlers over to this page and we'll all band together. Sign up for email updates for this article and we'll keep you posted.
Send an email to repeatsdeadbeats@gmail.com to get step-by-step instructions on how to proceed with getting and filling out all the necessary paperwork.
Remember, it doesn't matter if they owed you $10 or $1000. It doesn't matter if they have one item of yours or 100. Filing an AG complaint is FREE and it will prevent them from setting up shop in the future and scamming countless others! Again, for further instructions on where and how to file these complaints, email repeatsdeadbeats@gmail.com.
I'd like to thank Jonathan for writing this article, showing interest in this case and reporting this information. You're a huge asset to the Edgewater area

Yes... these people have children & their children have threatened some consignors via email & facebook.
Great meeting tonight, lots of scammed consignors showed up! Let us proceed...
I understand everyone being angry about what happened at Repeats. This has truly been handled in the worst way. BUT - to stoop to a level of name calling and personal attacks when these people have children who are hearing all this is below all of us. I can't tell you what type of trouble they must have been in to do this, but there is no way they could think they could get away with it without consequences. I certainly hope that this situation doesn't change who we are as a community - i have seen how everyone comes together in a time of trouble to help one another. Lets not stoop to this level.
Me too! Thanks for the article Jonathan

James & Patricia Lawler were seen this past Saturday at a flea market in Delaware. They had a booth set up and they were selling consignor's items they had stolen. Why am I not surprised.....Photos to follow!
I agree with Mike in the sense that whatever actions taken will probably not result in getting $$ satisfaction since they are clearly in way over their heads and I will never see what they still owe me in the scheme of things (scheme being the operative word). It is unfortunate that we all trusted them and "partnered" with Trish and Jim in the good faith that they would be honest, upfront and straight forward with everyone. It would have been nice to have had a clue that something was amiss instead of reading about it and finding our belongings strewn across the back parking lot. Clearly they knew this was coming but continued to act "business as usual". It bothers me to hear that they are selling the property that I entrusted to them to serve their needs without the courtesy of giving me back my things so that I could decide how to handle myself. I keep hearing how they have contacted their consignors but to date - I have not been contacted -not sure what would be said at this point but it is all more than disappointing.
Based on the Website and how they havent contact anyone since you can rule out 2 of 3 options Mediation and Arbitration). So now your back to filing a tort or lawsuit. Please check out this site before you do
http://www.courts.state.md.us/district/forms/civil/dccv001br.html
Im not a Lawyer but just by looking at how they have turtled so far and by looking at case search and seeing that besides the Leasing companies they both also now have child support coming at them. Now if their business was still afloat you might have a chance to be made whole as its is you will be spending about another 68 dollars to file 28 for filing the case and another 40 for the sheriff to serve them. Well unless you think they will actually accept a summons via mail lol..Only to find they have filed bankruptcy and using your property to payoff their bigger more important Debts.. Sorry your lawyer should of already told you this.

lol Mary thank you for correcting my Grammar hehehe.. Look i understand your pain.. If someone stole money i would be pissed too but here is the thing. I know see both of the Leasing places are going after them for total damages in excess of 30.000 since they have filed first they will get first dibs on what ever the Lawlers dont sell real quick or move to other peoples names. Thats what i mean by Judgement Proof the time clock is ticking. I suspect they are moving fast to do this.. I wish you luck in getting what ever sliver of money that is left. Just being Honest with you hear no disrespect to your plight.
No Stars! Wow, I started researching this tonight. I dropped things off over two months ago and went by the store today. Too my surprise it was closed down, no forwarding address on the door, phone number disconnected and website gone! What the heck is wrong with people! What a scam. I'm in on this if anyone wants to put this to action. The only thing is..."Their computer was down" the day I brought my things in. So, no inventory sheet. Not much of a case I am afraid. Anyway, I would like to continue to follow the case. I hope they will pay for what they did. In my case, I've learned from my mistake. I will go with people I know to sell my things. Funny thing is...I got their business card from another consignment shop that didn't take men's clothes, they told me about Repeats. Repeats said they take mens clothes. That was the whole reason I went there. It's a shame and I am sure they will open a new store with a new name in a new area...We need to stop them now!
Nope, I'm not walking away. The Lawlers are deadbeats who stole thousands of dollars from people. The attorney who is a victim of the Lawlers as well, knows what he is doing. I think he is well aware of the law. ....and the word is you're not your.

Usually, the way to initiate a civil action is to meet with an attorney. He or she will discuss the options, and will outline fees. There may be a retainer that will need to be paid. However, any competent attorney will be able to advise any potential plaintiffs how to proceed.
I do know that if I was a consignor I would first contact the business insurance carrier, and file a claim for damages with them; this route won't cost any money, and may be a quicker payout. If this was my failed business, and I wantec to show a good faith effort to my jilted consignors, I would provide them with my carriers contact information.
I wonder if it is possible to find out about who insured that business from the management or leasing company that deals with that strip mall? Just in case there isnt any other way to get that info. . Could be that when they rented they needed to show proof of insurance, but I really don't have any idea. I'm just guessing...
I guess Jimmy boy and his wife Trish aren't do a thing to compensate anyone but themselves. But you know what they say..."Karma is a Bitch"
I did go to the police. They are on top of this "off the record....of course"

On the advice of our attorney (who has spoken to the Assistant Attorney General in the Consumer Protection Division) every consignor whose money or goods were taken by the Lawlers needs to file a complaint--it's quick, easy, and free.
Mary,
I dropped off my items in October 2011; they finally made it to the sales floor in late November 2011. I received less than $20.00 from Repeats Consignments for my items. I just found out about their closing last week; I plan to file a complaint with the police department. I never did receive the remainder of my items from the Lawlers. After the scene the last time I was in the store, I didn't feel safe going back there. Jim was a very rude and angry man with no human relations skills in dealing with consignors, I didn't want to deal with him again.
Karen: When did you drop off your items? I worked there from beginning of Feb to 10 April when they said they didn't have money to pay me. Did you file a complaint with the police like I did as well as lots of other consignors?
HELLO:

I dropped my items off with Trish who said she was too busy to inventory them at the moment. When I went back to see if I had sold any of my items, they only accounted for 15 of my items. I was told that I did leave them 30 items. James Lawler became very upset and raised his voice at me, and he doubted my claims. Trish was trying to explain that the computer had been down for a while and they were having problems. I asked to see a list of the items consigned and many of my items were missing. When I dropped my clothing off with Trish I trusted that she would be honest and treat my items with respect. To make a long story short, the Lawlers stole my items of clothing, I was never compensated for the missing items. They treated me like I was lying and making up a story about dropping off 30 items. Trish was there when I dropped them off, I marked all of the bags with my name on them and trusted her to count them and price them properly. A few weeks later I went to check on my items and over half of them never made it to the sales floor. I had new shoes in boxes, designer suits, mens and womens, many nice pieces of clothing. I am disgusted that they represented themselves as a "start up" business that was just having a few problems. They are thieves, liars and they mislead the Edgewater community. The Lawlers deserve to be taken to court for their cheating and unprofessional business dealings with the public. James need to take some anger management courses!
look up Patricia A. Price on CASE SEARCH. Trish Lawler, you have a record as well. I guess David Woo was correct....she's the "brains" behind this operation.
I waited and never heard from the Lawlers...going to the police to file a fraud/theft complaint

Hi Folks, I wanted to put my two cents in and suggest you also contact your Home Insurance Carrier. I have spoken with State Farm's claims personnel and they suggest there is a probability that these items would be covered under your home policy subject to your deductible. There is also the possibility that the insurance company would go after the owners on your behalf to collect back your deductible and the companies out of pocket expenses. This is called Subrogation. If you are a State Farm customer, Contact your Agent and see about filing a claim. You can even use the link to the article as your "report" of events. If any of you are clients of mine, please feel free to stop in the office and see us to discuss. -Marc

From the consignors I've spoken with, NO ONE has been contacted by James Lawler regarding compensation. What is the status of the their make-shift shop? Are YOU following up on this? We would like to know what's happening because the Lawlers have done nothing.
A review has been deleted from this post due to someone falsely identifying themselves as Robert O'Connell. I've verified with Mr. O'Connell that he in fact has no account with Patch and never left a review.

I too trusted Jimmy and Patricia with my belongings and my mother's estate belongings to sell for me. I am disappointed with how they handled this situation and hope that they will recognize their mistake, and do whatever they can do to make this right with as many customers as they can. Most humans are understanding and capable of forgiveness, however, Jimmy and Patricia need to take the first step and apologize and take some affirmative steps. I don't see how the personal attacks in anyway.
So disheartening. I will file a complaint with the police department - never heard a word from them...
I too have loved this store and have been in many times. However, I am also a consignor and have not been contacted about the eviction. I did receive a mass email about the new store opening up. I am choosing to be optimistic that it will open, that I will receive a phone call or personal email, and that I will receive the money that is owed to me soon. I thought they did a very nice job with the store. Trish, please contact me with the information I have provided to you. Julie French

Has anyone heard anything? I went to the Southern District police station with 2 friends that lost quite a bit of money and items. They both filed a fraud/theft report. Have the Lawlers contacted anyone?
I am here to urge anyone that was defrauded by Patricia and James Lawler, the owners of Repeats Quality Consignements to go to the southern district station two blocks from Repeats and file a stolen property case against them as the police will act faster when they see the magnitude of the number of people that were ripped off. It is a felony if the theft exceeds $500.00. If we band together, maybe at least some of us will get our stuff back, as I hear rumours that they are starting to consign our items at various shops and that they are also yard saling our items. Once they dispose of it, we will never get anything back even though they will get a pair of shiney bracelets from AA PD, that still does not help us out money wise. Thanks!
Jonathan, Ronnie Chester is the maintenance man at the South River Colony he helped Jimmy Lawler load the U-haul truck on Thursday night. In addition he handpicked thru the consignors items and took whatever he wanted.
There is no Mayo Rd location. It has been verified by the leasing agent they never leased that store.

Consignors have still not heard from Repeats owners. Perhaps we should go protest on their front lawn at 1102 Love Point Rd until they return the items and the money.
Although this is not breaking news to anyone following the Repeats’ saga, as consignor, similarly I have not been contacted regarding the status of my items, but that’s fine, as I will be contacting them. In the meantime, I wish to point out that there are other very reputable, successful, well run consignment shops with whom I regularly consign and would highly recommend. Return to Oz and New To You are both a pleasure to do business with, as they are trustworthy, fair, and even friendly to their clients – Imagine that! So, perhaps with the demise of Repeats, the businesses that are more deserving will prosper, as will we.
Apparently I am not the only person who has been on the wrong end of a business relationship with Repeats Consignments, but mine was as a customer. I bought one and only one item there. After they told my friend it was one price, I went back and forth with them over the phone and then finally gave them my credit card number to hold it until I could come pick it up the next day. When I came in, they had charged me $20 more than they told me. Silly me, I actually took the merchandise home anyway, because I had already made major plans around it. I went back once to discuss the problem with them, and they denied any wrongdoing. I never went back again. And if that is how they treat their customers, I'm afraid that the consignors are completely out of luck. I would avoid any business that was owned or operated by these people until they decide to run their business with honesty and integrity. And maybe they will decide to do that - after all, cheating and lying apparently got them evicted, so maybe honesty and integrity might end up making them money.
From last May: THE CAPITAL: INSIDE BUSINESS We have seen great results. Last year’s winner, Repeats Consignments, opted not to take space here. Trish Lawler still gets support from the school. They opened a retail shop in Davidsonville, and they’ve grown so much that they opened a second shop in Pasadena.
****Epic Fail***A wonderful idea but college can not teach honesty & integrity. Last year's winner Repeats Consignments Trish Lawler has lied & stolen from her consignors. She was evicted for not paying rent, yet still accepted consignors items, which ended up in the back parking lot last Friday night. . You can read about it on Edgewater Patch.
HELLO:
On the advice of our attorney (who has spoken to the Assistant Attorney General in the Consumer Protection Division) every consignor whose money or goods were taken by the Lawlers needs to file a complaint--it's quick, easy, and free.
I'm sorry to see them go. I had good buys and even better sales with Trish and Jimmy. I did receive a phone call from Jimmy regarding our furniture, but I failed to return his call in a timely manner, and had no idea that they were being evicted. This is hard times, and I wish you guys the best. You had a wonderful store, and I hope you get another one, and learn from your experience your next go round.
Yup! They did this to my daughter too! I would browse about once a week, and since they had really rearranged the store, I thought I'd see about taking some of my items there. Had an appointment on April 30th, and much to my surprise they had left. I think that was an omen. Feel bad for people who don't know where their items are or their payments.
And I thought I was the only one! They did the same thing to me! They picked up my items and did not list them on my consignment sheet. Was told the same thing re computer problems and they would get back to me....which they never did...I waited 2 months. Went into the store to get a copy of my consignment sheet which Trish gave me reluctantly, then tried to rip it out of my hand when she suspected I was going to take it to an attorney. She chased me out of the store trying to get the paper back.
I should not have trusted them like I did but they seemed so nice. I have learned my lesson. Someone said to contact the Capitol Newspaper which has a investgative consumer column that looks into this type of stuff. Others I know are now taking their consignments to Echoes and Accents in Annapolis which pays 55% instead of just 45%.
Actually Drew Hall in French "Se La Vie" means That's Life. It could be written either way. Also blaming the consignors means you are either nuts or a lone friend of the crooks. Either way, you will have no allies in this battle if you blame the cosignors. The thieves are to blame. If I walk down the street late at night and get jumped is that my fault or the criminal's fault? The law would hold the criminal culpable, but you would find fault with my walking down the street. The bottom line is that the Lawless oops I meant Lawlers are in the same criminal category. I have filed a full police report and I urge the rest of you to go to the police station and do the same.
Trish,
I am a consigner who brought in several nice ladies clothing items. I have not been contacted yet by you either. At this point and I gather from all the comments, that we only want our stuff back, and/or be compensated. Opening at a new location would not be a good idea since now you have no more customers. Why don't you let us ALL know today when we can pick up our items from you storage spaces.
Renee Brennan
WOW! Had no idea. I was not contacted. Would love to know where my items and $ are. Trish, Please contact me Kimberly Cox 443-871-1363 or kimberlykay1@comcast.net.
I finally gave up when I could not get paid for what I brought in nor did their records match my list; I was told to read the contract that they were not responsible for the loss of the jewelry I had consigned. The last day I went in for a final check, I said I would never be back, and her computer showed I had nothing left in the store yet she deducted another year from the small amount I was to receive. I referred a friends, one of whom brought in quality expensive shoes, mens suits, women's clothes and never got a penny. What happened to them? Well good luck if you can pull yourself out of this, bit I could never trust you again.
Grace it s c est la vie..... and part of the blame is to be shared by those who entered into business with Trish.... they could or should have done a better job with due diligence. Not knowing much about the situation I agree it could have been handled better by Trish and Jimmy but again flip side of the coin.... had everyone been paid and their items sold I am better a lot less would be said about the spelling or past history of the shop owners. Maybe you all can ban together and go to the Federal Govt and ask for a bail out..... at the end of the day you made a bad business decision and partnered with bad business people and allowed them to gamble in essence with your backing.... shame on them... but also.... shame on you!
How do you spell LIARS - that's about the only thing they were good at LYING -
I see in SEVERAL posts from Trish herself saying "you are not even a consignor, go bother someone else." WELL, I AM a consignor and I HAVEN'T been contacted by YOU or your husband like you also state in your responses. LIES, LIES, LIES!
This explains why the only excuse we ever got when we called to check on our items was "computer issues!" I asked many times to mail my check because I moved out of state but NEVER got a check in the mail and when I came to pick it up it was LESS than I was told over the phone.
Bunch of CROOKS!
Trish and Jimmy,
We were told last month that the computer was down and we would have to wait until the first of this month to get a check.
We were in last week looking for a check for several items we left with you and were told to come back at the beginning of the month.
We're waiting to hear from you. Our contact information is in your records.
I'm sorry for the loss of your business - it was a great store - I bought several items from you - and consigned one. It truly is a shame to see a local business go down.
I hope you can re-open - and I hope we can work out the compenstation for our white sofa that you all sold in March/April. Please contact Joe Tucker in your records...
I left over 40 pieces of ladies business clothes and mens suits on Apr 5th and have never been contacted that the business was closing. Please call me and lets work this out. Karen Williams
Trish, I am a consignor and as of today, May 3, I have not been contacted about any of my things. You accepted a king sized metal headboard, a lamp, and several boxes of expensive Avon products from me on Thursday, April 12. I would truly appreciate hearing something from someone. I also had some money on my account that I had not yet collected. Imagine my surprise when I went to the store on Monday, April 30 to check on my items and found the empy store. Please call me.
My husband is Bob Caspers. You have our Ashley king size bedroom furniture set, a black leather coat, and some wall pictures. If you are not a thief, call Bob Caspers at one of the telephone numbers in your records TODAY. We want our furniture back. NOW.
Repeat's Consignments is really a great place. You all act like you will never get your stupid money. Who has the time to make this stupid account. So thank you very much mary, your so very mature! i guess the consignment industry is not your thing considering you can't keep a job. That's why your doing this. so why don't you keep your mouth freaking shut. thanks. :)
The owners knew for over a month they would be evicted for not paying rent since Feb yet they never called consignors to come & collect their items. Instead they took furniture and other items on Thursday night April 26th, filled 2 storage units and left the rest. When the Sheriff arrived to evict them the store still had plenty of stuff which was boxed up and placed in the back parking lot for people to rifle through. What a mess.
You need to get your facts straight before running your mout
This business left town in the middle of the night! Pulled a midnight move on their landlord and customers. Took my bedroom furniture and several other items with them! RIPPED ME OFF! COMPLETELY.
This is slander! We did not move out in the middle of the ni
Amazing ! Not your typical consignment store. Very inviting, nicely laid out, not cluttered. Antique and modern furniture was very good quality and priced exceptionally well. I like the unusual and ecclectic items. I could furnish a whole room for probably 50-70% less than I would normally spend on the same items elsewhwere - if I could find them. Very helpful and knoweldgeable people. I will be back.
I love this store. There are a lot of interesting things to browse through and if you're lucky you'll find a great deal with your name all over it. Been in once and intend to go in more often as I get time. Love that place!
I love this shop! The staff are super friendly and helpful. I've already been back a second time to find more treasures. Check it out, definitely worth a visit!
We would like to thank the communitity for the warm welcome to your neighborhood. Also we would like to thank all our wonderful customers for their support with our new shop. A special thanks to all of our MainStreet neighbors who have been very suportive and finally to Scott Shineman thank you for all your advise and help. You have gone above and beyond your job and we really appreciate you!!!
LOVE IT! I have found some amazing buys here! The store owner is so nice! I am a customer for life!!!!
I visited this shop over the weekend as I discovered it by accident. I LOVE it. Super friendly staff and cool items both large and small. I will be back again and again.

No matter what you lost Grace, what you are doing is completely inappropriate. What are you a pissed off stalker? You had your time in court with Trish, you got your say, so cut this crap out. Grace, what you are doing is pure harassment. You need another hobby.
