In July 2010, Mayo United Methodist Church merged with Parkwood United Methodist Church. Communion is offered the first Sunday of the month. The parish offers youth groups, service groups, adult choir, handbell choir and a praise band. In spring and fall, the public is invited to the church's Ham and Oyster Festival.
