My Best of 2012: Part 1- My Top 20 Films of the Year

Part 1 of 4 of My Best of 2012 Extravaganza (I guess you could call it that) !!

Hello, readers-- it's time for my best of 2012, part 1 of 4! Why four parts? Well I'm going to kick it off with my top twenty, and then the second part will be my favorite performances of 2012, followed by my favorite movie moments of 2012 and the specialty awards.

Keep in mind that as I was compiling my top twenty favorite films of 2012, I did not take into account the scores I gave to certain films. This list is solely based off of how much I liked the films, not how great I thought they were, though most of them go hand-in-hand. Without further ado, I present to you my Top Twenty Favorite Films of 2012! (descending order)

20. Wreck-It Ralph

19. Prometheus

18. 21 Jump Street

17. Cloud Atlas

16. Lincoln

15. Chronicle

14. The Dark Knight Rises

13. The Queen of Versailles

12. The Impossible

11. Pitch Perfect

10. Magic Mike

9. Skyfall

8. Silver Linings Playbook

7. ParaNorman

6. The Master

5. Bully

4. Zero Dark Thirty

3. The Perks of Being a Wallflower

2. Robot & Frank

1. Moonrise Kingdom

I'm pretty satisfied with this list. Without a doubt Moonrise Kingdom, Robot & Frank, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Zero Dark Thirty, and Bully all deserve to be in my top five. I hope everyone had/gets a chance to see most of these wonderful films!

(P.S. Zero Dark Thirty is in theaters now-- Moonrise Kingdom is on Blu-ray/DVD now and The Perks of Being a Wallflower and Robot & Frank are being released on Blu-ray/DVD February 12th! Bully is coming sometime in the spring, I hope.....)
