Empty Bowls Fundraiser for the AACo Food Bank
Where: South River High School's Cafeteria, 201 Central Ave. East, Edgewater
Details: This is an event where ten local restaurants have donated 100 bowls of soup each and local potters are donating ceramic bowls.The empty ceramic bowl is to symbolize your participation in an event that raised money for all the Empty Bowls (hunger) in the community.

EVENING LECTURE SERIES: Factors Affecting Fish, Blue Crabs, Submerged Vegetation in the Chesapeake Bay
When: Wednesday
Where: 647 Contees Wharf Rd., Edgewater
Details: Dr. Chris Patrick with the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center will speak on the above topic at this free event. Pre-registration is not required. 

What Common Core Means to You
When: Wednesday
Where:  St. Martin's in-the-Field Episcopal Church, 375 Benfield Rd., Severna Park
Details: Learn about what the implementation of Common Core Curriculum means to your child’s education. This controversial change in education will be discussed by Richard Rothschild, Carroll County Commissioner.

Beaujolais CRUveau Wine Tasting and Sale
Where:  Bay Ridge Wine & Spirits, 111 Hillsmere Dr., Annapolis
Details: An in-store tasting of Beaujolais Nouveau 2013. Wines will be on sale at discount prices during the event. 

The Colonial Players presents 'Annie'
Where: The Colonial Players, 108 East St., Annapolis
Details: Based on the Harold Gray comic strip “Little Orphan Annie,” this heartwarming musical takes place in the beginning years of the 1930s which were some of the hardest years in American history due to many economic events -- the stock market crash; the Dust Bowl; the Great Depression.

Details: The Admission Showcase provides a comprehensive view of our school and program with a short presentation, tours and more.

Greenstreet Gardens Twilight Open House
When: Friday
Where: 391 West Bay Front Rd., Lothian
Details: Greenstreet Gardens hosts their Twilight Open House, an elegant evening of wine, music, and light fare to benefit the Captain Avery Museum in Shady Side. Tickets are $15 per person, with 100% of the proceeds going to the museum.
