Sports: South River Wins Field Hockey Tournament

Also, South River's football team pulled off a comeback win over Annapolis.

South River High's varsity field hockey team swept Holy Cross and trounced Glenelg to claim a tournament win in its season opener.

The Capital Gazette reports the Seahawks beat Holy Cross, 6-0, and Glenelg, 3-1, to win the South River Invitational.

Emily Szachnowicz scored three goals in the Holy Cross game and one against Glenelg.

Football: South River's varsity team beat Annapolis Friday,32-29. The Seahawks trailed 21-7 heading into the 4th quarter.
