Members of the South River High School community might remember sisters Olivia and Bella Pyne for leading the school to its first and only state lacrosse championship in 2012. Now, the two sisters have taken their winning ways to the University of Oregon, and they're up to their old tricks.

Olivia Pyne, a junior on the team, helped get Bella, a freshman on the right page by sharing some advice she received from another pair of sisters: "Keep running. If you keep running you can never go wrong," reports The Daily Emerald.

Bella Pyne, a freshman, told the Daily Emerald she was initially overwhelmed by the transition to college lacrosse, not to mention from defense to midfield.

But her sister's advice must have struck a chord, because Bella Pyne was just awarded the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Rookie of the Week, after scoring five goals in two Oregon victories last weekend, including four against San Diego State.

Both sisters told the Daily Emerald that the University of Oregon wasn't on their radar, but the eventually found their way there. For Olivia Pyne, assistant coach Jen Derby, another alum of South River High School, opened her up to the idea of playing on the West Coast.

“I love how there are a bunch of girls from the east coast that you don’t even feel like you are that far from home," Olivia Pyne tol the Daily Emerald.

While at first Bella wanted to forge her own path in college lacrosse, she eventually realized she wanted to call Eugene home as well.

The two rekindled their chemistry on the field April 4, when Olivia assisted Bella on a goal, part of the Ducks' 19-7 win over St. Mary's.
