Classes begin the week of Aug. 27 and Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) recently announced that county school bus schedules are now available online at AACPS.org/buses.
The AACPS release stated that about 670 buses are expected to traverse county roads, transporting nearly 57,000 children to and from school each day on over 560 different routes.
Buses will also travel more than 10 million miles throughout the 2012-13 school year, according to the release.
“Bus service is available to prekindergarten and kindergarten students who live more than one-half mile from their school, elementary students who live more than a mile from their school, and middle and high school students who live more than a mile-and-a-half from their school,” according to the release.
By clicking on one of the schools listed on the website, parents can see a breakdown of specifically where buses will stop, what time it’ll stop and who it is scheduled to transport.
The bus schedule portion of the website will remain online until Sept. 17 and after that, a contact email will be shared with parents who have any questions about the bus routes.
The only county schools not listed on the online routing list are Chesapeake Science Point Public Charter School and Monarch Academy. Parents with children there should contact the schools for bus route information, according to the release.
