Air Quality Specialist Returns to Edgewater Elementary

A session will be held on Friday morning to discuss the school's conditions and address the concerns of parents.

Parents of students will have another opportunity to meet with the specialist hired by Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) to examine the school's air quality.

Edgewater Elementary parents reportedly received messages Tuesday inviting them to visit the school from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday to speak with Ed Light, president of Building Dynamics, an industrial hygiene and mechanical engineering consultant.

Last week, AACPS brought in the consulting firm to review the after a large number of parents claimed the school was making .

Light specializes in indoor environmental engineering and reportedly visited the school twice to examine the facility. He will be available Friday to answer and discuss what he’s examined so far.

Why did it take an article in the Capital Newspaper and Channel 7 news coverage to get an expert to look at the school? The parents back in October asked for an outside consultant paid by the parents, to be allowed to come and investigate and we were told absolutely not by the county school system. Interesting?
