Water crews rescued a woman stranded in floodwaters on Patuxent River Road in Davidsonville on Wednesday night, according to Chief Michael Cox of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.
Firefighters responded to the area of Patuxent River Road and Sands Road at about 6:19 p.m. for a report of a flooded roadway.
Initially, a police officer made contact with a woman who was sitting on the top of her car on Patuxent River Road amid three feet of floodwater. The car was stuck in the flooding, Cox said.
The fire department dispatched swift water crews in an inflatable Zodiac boat and brought the woman to safety, Cox said.
