Area residents reported seeing several U.S. Marshals and Anne Arundel County police officers making arrests near the Mayo Post Office on Wednesday afternoon.
Edgewater-Davidsonville Patch's Facebook page blew up with residents inquiring about the incident, which took place at about 1 p.m.
County police department spokesman Justin Mulcahy said the U.S. Marshals were in charge of the investigation and that he preferred not to comment since it was a federal inquiry.
Patch contacted a U.S. Marshal public affairs representative, Dave Neumann, who said he needed some time to look into the specific incident.
Check back with Patch as I receive more information about the incident and any corresponding arrests.
