Police are asking for the public's help to find the man who robbed the M&T bank on Friday morning in Edgewater.
Police said the robbery happened just after 9 a.m. at the bank in the 3100 block of Solomons Island Road.
The robber did not appear to have a weapon. He came in and demanded money, police said. The teller complied, handing over an undisclosed amount of money.
The bank robber then ran away, heading west into the community of Southdown Shores.
On Friday, residents of Southdown Shores were surprised to find that police had blocked off entry and exit to their neighborhood, while officers searched the area with the aid of K9 units.
The robber was not found. It was the second time in five weeks that the M&T at that location was robbed. On , a robber, fitting a different description, also hit the bank and got away with an undisclosed sum of money. He also fled on foot.
Police said Friday's robbery suspect is a white man in his late 30s to early 40s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, and 190 pounds with light facial hair. He was wearing sunglasses, a navy blue Nautica T-shirt with red or orange/white lettering on the front, a dark-colored L.A. baseball cap with a white logo on the front, blue jean pants and white tennis shoes.
