The body of a man last seen near the City Dock on Dec. 5 was recovered from the water in the area Saturday night, according to the Annapolis Police Department.
Authorities identified the body as Robert Stewart, 36, of Annapolis. Stewart was reported missing on Dec. 6, 2013, when he failed to show up at work. He was last seen a day earlier near the City Dock.
Annapolis Police officers -- with assistance from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, Annapolis Fire Department, Anne Arundel Fire Department, and Department of Defense -- recovered Stewart's body Saturday evening.
Officers responded to Prince George Street at about 11:15 p.m. Saturday on a report of a body floating in the water near the dock. The body was removed from the water and transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for further investigation.
