Just because he or anyone else doesn't drink it can still happen to them; caused by an irresponsible drinker. Happens too many times; innocent people are injured or killed by a drunk driver and unfortunately, nothing happens to them. I attended a funeral last year...a lady and her 7-year old lost their lives because ofa drunken driver. Just saying.

It does and its really sad. I lost someone really close to me to a drunk driver. He was charged and convicted and only sent away for 5 years and the best part about it is that was his fourth DUI. They need harsher penalty's for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

How fast were these people going for helicopters and shock trauma to be involved? I live in that neighborhood and people speeding is a real issue. This is a densely populated area, with tons of kids, and I see people speeding up and down streets here all the time. Just saying, maybe this accident could have been less severe or avoided if people actually followed the speed limits or if the cops did more than just sit in the lot across from the fire house, or across from royal farms.

Thank you Mike, it is so true. We live on Shore Drive and it is ridiculous how people speed thru here, cars and motorcycles! I have a small child and refuse to let him ride his bike! Can not wait too be from here one day, there is no concern. There need to be speed bumps! Anyway, I do wish the individuals involved I'm the accident are okay .... No matter circumstance; I wish no ill will on others.

As we all know what the media writes is not always the truth! This story is a good example. The CHILDREN that were involved were 18 years old and 15 years old. I know this information for a fact because I read the police report. As we all know police report are public information. Before jumping the gun and saying negative things maybe we should all take the time and read the police report. What the media failed to mention the children were being chased by older men in another vehicle. Also, in the police report it did NOT mention any use of alcohol or drugs. Whether this is true or not in time it will come out. I believe what Tammy was trying to say is that the children have family members on here and they have feelings too!! I live in the neighborhood and see a lot of things go on here and it's horrible. I understand that most are reading this child's facebook page and it talks about drinking. Do we all agree with this absolutely not. But when the child was approached with a knife his choice was to run in his home with his elderly gramdmother there or jump in the car. He felt he made the right decision until these ran him off the rode. Once again public knowledge police report. So let stop being so negative and pray that the children make safe and full recovery!
