John A. Schimoler, 50, of Edgewater. Died on Aug. 12. Survived by his wife, son and daughter—both who live in Edgewater. Schimoler was a member of the 1983 Syracuse University National Championship lacrosse team and coached the Mayo Youth Lacrosse Club for many years. He loved fishing, animals and lacrosse.

George H. Northcraft, 56, of Edgewater. Died on Aug. 9. Survived by his wife, step-son, step-daughter and two siblings. Northcraft served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force from 1975-82, providing support in the military band. He earned the Air Force Commendation Medal for saving the lives of two adults and two children when he pulled them from a burning car while on temporary duty in Michigan. He later worked at the U.S. Post Office in Shady Groce.

Big George? Very sad to hear that. Havent seen him in a few years, but he was always fun to be around & a friend to everyone. Thoughts & prayers are with his family & friends.
