Adopt a Beagle!!

Beagle Rescue of Southern Maryland has MANY great dogs available for adoption to loving forever homes!!

A friend of mine fosters homeless beagles for Beagle Rescue of Southern Maryland - being a beagle lover myself, I offered to do adoption portraits of their dogs for their website, Facebook page and other adoption listings and literature.

I attended the BRSM adoption event at the Arundel Mills Pet Smart on January 19th. Last I’d heard, there were about half a dozen dogs that needed photographs – when I got there, I quickly realized that there were WAY more than I was expecting!  So I found a spot to set up outside, and volunteers brought the dogs to me one at a time.

After two hours of shooting on my knees on the cold pavement (which didn’t really affect me til I got home) while volunteers danced around me with squeekers, whistles, treats and clickers, trying to get the attention of the dogs (which, I’m sure, also got the attention of everyone in the parking lot at the time – LOL!) , I wound up with a whole bunch of really great shots of TWENTY really great dogs who are all searching for their forever homes.

Two of these dogs were adopted before I could even unload their images from my camera - that's how awesome they are!  But the rest are still looking for families they can call their own.

I'm sharing their photos here in the hopes that we can get them some much needed exposure - so please share this blog post with your friends, or go to BRSM's album on my FaceBook page and share their photos far and wide!  Sharing = exposure, and exposure = potential adoptions!!  It only takes a second to click on a link...  Remember, for every foster dog that finds a permanent home, a slot opens up in a foster home where a dog in need of a safe place can stay for a while!

You can find more information on the individual dogs pictured here, and many other great adoptable beagles, on the BRSM website under "Our Dogs".  If you would be interested in volunteering, or donating cash or supplies, please contact BRSM via their FaceBook page, or by email - and if you have alittle extra space where a rescued beagle can crash for a bit, they are in desperate need of foster homes!!

If you can't adopt, foster.  If you can't foster, volunteer.  If you can't volunteer, donate.  If you can't donate, share.  These dogs need our help, and even the slightest contribution can save lives!!
