Photo of the Day: Mammoth Trash Heap

Does anyone else out there have a trash pile this big?

Local resident Lisa Benefiel snagged this picture at a nearby marina in Woodland Beach and posted it on Edgewater-Davidsonville Patch's Facebook page

"How's that once a week trash collection workin for you all??? Pretty stinky at the marina near our house," Benefiel wrote.

Thankfully, I don't have anything this bad near my home, but I know I may be a lucky one.

As controversial as the once-a-week trash schedule has been , feel free to share photos of your various trash piles if they turn out as bad as this one.

Not sure, but I bet that is private collection and not County. I don't think they do dumpsters.

Unfortunately it looks like many things in that dumpster could go to good will. Maybe that's the problem.

Thats not really a fair picture because the county is not responsible for emptying dumpsters. Looks like "Republic" is responsible for that one.

Awful lot of 'spin' to this article - a theme I've seen before. "Shenanigans" - also there can't be nearly that much actual garbage there - someone isn't recycling/reusing if you ask me - but I'm not rooting through it to find out and this is near my home.

It's working fabulous for me thank you very much....

I use my in sink garbage disposal for most foodstuffs & almost everything is recyclable so I have never had much "garbage"

More bogus sensationalism by the Patch. This is a non story and has nothing to do with the county. Can we get an editor that actually does something?
TM July 11, 2012 at 01:37 PM
Well I'm not going quite that far as 'non story' - the Patch has great value - they can't all be homeruns - and the censorship seems to have tapered off - obviously - I say keep up the good work and always try to improve. I don't know many folks that endeavor to do something with the goal being mediocrity or failure...
John W. Koontz July 11, 2012 at 04:38 PM
Non Story as TM righfully stated this has nothing to do with the County other than code enforcement. Privet trash pick up and these folks not doing a very good job of recycling either.

That's what I said.
