Three Vehicle Collision Leaves Three Seriously Injured

Two pickup trucks collided with a minivan sending three people to shock trauma on Friday in Harwood.

Three people were seriously injured Friday afternoon in a three vehicle accident on Solomons Island Road in Harwood.

A 2004 Ford F350 was traveling south on Solomons Island Road around 4 p.m. when it struck a 2006 Chrysler minivan that was stopped preparing to turn into a driveway near Harwood Road, according to police. The minivan was pushed by the force of the accident into the path of a GMC pickup truck, which struck the van.

The driver of the Ford and two occupants in the van were taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma center for treatment, according to police. The driver of the GMC truck suffered minor injuries and was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center.

Police did not release the names of those injured.

A preliminary investigation determined the driver of the Ford F350 failed to avoid striking the van, causing the accident, according to police

It was not determined if alcohol or speed played a factor in the crash, according to police.

For some reason I notice men who drive big pickup trucks like a F-350 tend to drive fast. They love to blow diesel smoke by fast acceleration . For example, I think the fastest drivers tend to be the guys who drive the roll back tow truck styles. I THINK IT IS TIME FOR EVERYONE TO CALM DOWN AND DRIVE SLOWER!! ALLOW MORE TIME TO DRIVE TO YOUR DESTINATION!

I went by that accident around 5:00 and there was also a dead Skunk in the road 100 ft away. Those poor officers on duty.
