Has anyone been to La Fiesta Mexican Restaurant in Edgewater recently? It appears the business may be closed.

A wooden door and padlock are currently on the front entrance to La Fiesta, and the phone seems to have been disconnected.

One Edgewater-Davidsonville Patch reader said she went to La Fiesta on Saturday night, but that is was closed.

Patch has not been able to get in contact with the owners to confirm the closing.

Edgewater's favorite bartender—known only as "Doyle"— left La Fiesta in February, and is now serving up drinks at Stan and Joe's.

Have you been to La Fiesta recently? Was it open? Tell us in the comments.

It's been closed since the beginning of July. Not sure what happened, but I know another restaurant offered to move into the space and the offer was turned down! Hmm, not good for business. We need a good restaurant in there!

hasta nunca. I don't want to see any business fail but this was just an absolute disaster of a 'mexican' restaurant. No better than a Taco Bell with table service. HISPA Market just opened their restaurant on Mayo and that is ACTUAL South American cuisine. Lord only knows what the rent on that space must be. I applaud any independent business owner that can afford to startup in this area - wife and I tried and there's just no way we can afford it.

I went there quite often for their taco Tuesday deals and I made my family stop going because they were infested with cock roaches. My first night eating there I saw a roach on the wall next to our table. It crawled onto the table next to us and I didn't want it to crawl into their food so I told them about it. They killed it. I thought its probably just an isolated incident. The next couple of times I went it was in the back of my head. Well the last time we went I went to get tacos and there wasn't just one or two there were 3 roaches on the actual taco table. And when I told the lady working there she acted like there was no problem....I was quite upset. I wasn't going to let my family eat and we left. Disgusting. They could be cooked in the food. I'm sure they are in alot of restaurants but I've never seen one before or since I stopped going there. So I can imagine they closed the place. Probably the health department.

My family did not have the cockroach experience, but did get hair in the food and a server who did not care about it nor did anything to fix it -- such as offering to get something else or taking the price of that dinner off the bill (we had to ask for the manager). Needless to say, we never went back. Other places such as Plazuela's, Chevy's or Jalapeno's have since received our business.

Chevy's is 'Tex-Mex' and Jalapeno's is Spanish as in European Spanish. Not sure I get the comparison there. Plazuelas claims to be authentic Mexican - I only went once - never saw a single Latino person eating there. Glad we went to La Fiesta when it first opened - the food was bad enough without la cucarachas.

Cockroaches are considered atmosphere is Mexican restaurants. They write songs about them. I wouldn't worry until I saw rats.

Very sad. The one in Crofton went out a while back. It would have been nice if people could have been told they were closing.
