Are you thinking about Halloween?
Chances are, probably not.
Back in June, I asked readers on Edgewater-Davidsonville Patch to tell me what they wanted to replace on Solomons Island Road.
Nearly on the article and even more submitted their vote in the poll—377 people to be exact. Unfortunately for everyone that voted, what’s replacing the Giant is nothing close to what many residents were asking for.
With a simple drive down Solomons Island Road, residents can clearly see what will be replacing the vacant building—a Spirit Halloween costume store.
The business, which may only occupy the space for the seasonal months of 2012, is a nationwide costume chain that features high-quality outfits for trick-or-treaters of all ages. The new costume megastore will feature outfits that range in style, theme, sophistication and price—from SpongeBob Squarepants to full-body zombies.
Residents last year might remember the seasonal shop renting out the same space, only to move out in November.
If Edgewater-Davidsonville Patch readers had their say, the old Giant would be . But for now, it seems they’ll all have to make due with the new Spirit Halloween. A banner on the vacated building shows that Spirit Halloween is scheduled to open in September.
The new business is most likely temporary, so are you OK with Spirit Halloween coming to Route 2?
Tell me in the comments.
