Plan Ahead: Cab Services for New Year's Eve

Here's a complete list of cab companies serving the Edgewater and Davidsonville area so you can enjoy New Year's safely and responsibly.

New Year's Eve is supposed to be a night where we all reflect on the past and celebrate a promising future.

However, one bad decision can ruin all that for you or someone else.

Getting behind the wheel after too many drinks can shatter a life, and national statistics show that New Year's Eve is officially the most dangerous for drivers and pedestrians when it comes to drunk driving accidents, according to AutoGuide.com.

No one wants to miss out on a great night, but enjoying New Year's Eve should mean planning ahead and being responsible too.

To help everyone in that process, here is a list of local cab services offering transportation on New Year's Eve. Enjoy a great night, have some drinks, but if you've had a little too much, save these phone numbers and call a cab on Dec. 31.

The following cab companies and their contact info was provided by the Anne Arundel County website's citizen's information center page

I'd be willing to bet that each of the listed companies are "Annapolis" cab companies. That doesn't mean that they don't serve Edgewater/Davidsonville. What it does mean is that they will pick you up but if some part of your trip doesn't involve the city of Annapolis, they'll add a $4.00 surcharge to your fare.

You're right Steve, most—but not all—of the companies are Annapolis based, but when I spoke with them, they said they do serve those outside of the area. You'll just need to call them and "book" them in advance.

Would be nice if they'd squash the ludicrous surcharge that they charge simply because the customer isn't going to/from where the companies would prefer. God forbid that your taxicab picks me up in Galesville and I want to go to Cleveland!

When your company is based on Central Ave. in Mayo/Edgewater, Mayo, Edgewater, etc. isn't "outside of the area."
