This will be the first time Neuman has met with South County chamber members.
"She will be answering questions of the chamber and she may be giving a review of what's going on that's relevant to business owners, and just mingling with our chamber members," Chamber president Cindy Morgan said.
The chamber will also be presenting the Gene Hall Community Service award to one South County business.
"Gene Hall used to own an electric company in Deale. He was a vibrant member of the community," Morgan said.
After his death, the chamber started the award to honor a member of the community that gives back and has the same giving spirit and sense of humor as Hall did in his life, according to Morgan.
Companies can be nominated for the award by community or chamber members, and the award is not limited to chamber businesses.
The event is being held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 17 at Greenstreet Gardens on 391 West Bay Front Road in Lothian.
The schedule for the evening is as follows:
- County executive meet and greet: 5:30 to 6 p.m.
- Gene Hall Community Award: 6 p.m.
- Board nomination and elections: 6:15 p.m.
- Crab feast: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
