What's Going On: Tribute Baseball Game, Yard Sales

Here's a smattering of community bulletins uploaded to Patch this week.

  • St. James' Lothian Fall Festival—St. James’ Parish in Lothian will hold its annual “Fall Festival, Country Ham and Oyster Dinner” on Saturday from 1-5 p.m. The menu will feature fried oysters, country and honey-baked ham, potatoes au gratin, green beans, homemade coleslaw, rolls and biscuits, beverages and homemade pies.
  • RBI JV Baseball All-Star Game—Upon learning of the recent passing of 18-year-old South River High student Josh Mackin, RBI will dedicate the RBI All-Star Game to him and give his family the "game ball." The game features 24 selected players from local area teams participating in the RBI fall league. Game is at 3 p.m. on Saturday at Riva Park. 
  • DOOMSDAY ASYLUM 2012 Haunted House—The all-new Doomsday Asylum 2012 Haunted House presented by Tulip Gulch Productions returns to Prince George's Stadium this October! Show is INDOORS and the wait area is outside but under cover. Haunted House is rain or shine. Stadium gates open at 6:30 p.m. and haunted house starts at sundown. Runs Fridays and Saturdays through Oct. 27, then during Halloween week: Oct. 29-31.
  • Mayo Civic Association Fall Garage Sale—Tons of new stuff! The Mayo Civic Association is holding their Fall Garage Sale and Flea Market on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the MCA Hall at 1175 Mayo Rd. in Mayo. Table rentals are $10.
  • Fairlea Drive Yard Sale—A variety of items will be up for grabs at this multi-family yard sale. Stop by and see if they have something you've been looking for! Starts at 8 a.m. Saturday at 408 Fairlea Dr. in Edgewater.
  • Silver Run Road Yard Sale—Starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, there will be a multi-family yard sale located at 406 Silver Run Rd. (corner of Chesapeake Drive and Silver Run Road).
  • Animal Adoption Day—Beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday in Millersville, this event will feature live music, face painting, a reptile display, and various rescue groups with adoptable pets, food and refreshments. The Anne Arundel County Police Department’s K-9 Unit will do a demonstration and there will be local spay/neuter educational information and more.
